This Sunday is Easter and is a good time to reflect on our relationship with Christ. I always think of the movie "Passion of the Christ" and the scenes where they are beating Jesus and nailing him to the cross. What a horrible death he died for us, so that we could be forgiven for our sin. It's hard to comprehend that someone would lay down their life for you, but that is exactly what Jesus did. Even though Easter brings thoughts of pastel colors, flowers, easter eggs, and the newness of Spring, it's a fact that Easter is about death as well. Think about how badly it hurts when you cut your finger, imagine that pain tenfold and we might have a small idea of the pain that Jesus must have felt as they whipped him and tortured him while he was on the cross.
The good news is, the second half of Easter is about life! Not just life as we know it, but eternal life with Jesus! This is truly something to get excited about. Jesus rose from the grave, Christ is Risen! We have grace, and mercy and forgiveness because of the price that He paid for us.
Just something to think about as we go into the weekend!
"Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me"......Pretty Awesome if you stop and think about it!
Don't forget the fellowship this Saturday from 2-6 at the Air National Guard base! Also don't forget services are at the PAC on Sunday, wouldn't want anyone to show up at church and think the rapture had taken place!
